Caracas, February 15 (RHC)-- Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez offered this Sunday the balance of COVID-19 in the country, where she highlighted the rate of 94 percent of patients recovered from the virus.

"At 336 days and week 46 of the pandemic in Venezuela, these are the general statistics: 133,218 total infections, 125,179 recovered, 6,760 active cases and 1,279 deaths," reported Delcy Rodriguez.

The vice-president reported that for this Sunday, 475 new cases of COVID-19 were detected, of which 471 are of community type and four imported.

"The area that today registers more new community cases is the Capital District of Caracas with 133, with active contagions in 20 parishes; followed by the states: Miranda, with 70 contagions and Zulia, with 59," said the Venezuelan vice president.

The South American country reached 1,279 deaths after reporting six new fatalities, "two men in Miranda, another in the Capital District, a child in Anzoátegui, a woman in Aragua and a man in Mérida," said Delcy Rodríguez.

Venezuela continues its fight against the pandemic.  On Saturday, a first batch of 100,000 doses of Sputnik V vaccine arrived in the country from Russia, and Carvativir, a drug capable of neutralizing the virus, was also created.
