Lima, June 17 (RHC)-- The president of the National Jury of Elections (JNE) of Peru, Jorge Salas Arenas, reported this Wednesday that the definitive results of the presidential elections will be released after resolving the issue of the challenges of electoral records.

Salas Arenas asserted that the authorities of the JNE are working to advance in the definitive results.  "Our work is in accordance with the law and we act with impartiality and transparency," he added.

"Let's not invoke more division.  We have to rebuild bonds of solidarity and seek consensus for the good of the country.  We are a great nation, not two nations but one," stated Salas Arenas.

The president of the JNE emphasized that the appeals of the electoral records will be resolved, although he pointed out that in the system there could be at least 80 cases of appeals, "it is important that division does not continue to be part of the agenda of our country."
