Panama City, July 2 (RHC)-- In Panama, the National Front for the Defense of Economic and Social Rights (Frenadeso) called a national mobilization on Thursday to protest the actions of the current government.

Jorge Guzmán, leader of Frenadeso, said the protesters marched from Porras Park to the Legislative Body in rejection of the policies and impositions of the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD).

The protest was organized to coincide with the completion of the first two years of the administration of the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo, and the reading of his annual report.

In addition to Frenades, other social organizations joined the march, such as the Movimiento Comunal Nacional Federico Britton (Mocona), the Sindicato Único de Trabajadores de la Construcción (Suntracs) and the Confederación Nacional de Unidad Sindical Independiente (Conusi), all of them with the common objective of defending the rights of the workers.
