Chief of the US Southern Command, Admiral Craig Faller, visits Colombia... along with head of the CIA, William Burns

Caracas, July 3 (RHC)-- Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro reiterated on Friday that the visit of the head of the Southern Command, Craig Faller, and the director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), William Burns, to Colombia and Brazil was aimed at preparing a plan against the South American nation.

During a military promotion ceremony, the Venezuelan president warned that, according to Colombian sources, the presence of both U.S. government officials was to finalize the details of a plan that seeks to "attempt against my life and against the lives of important political and military leaders of Venezuela."

"That's why Craig Faller and the director of the CIA came to Colombia and that's why they visited Brazil as well, to finalize the preparations of a violent plan," denounced Maduro.

According to the information given, Faller arrived in Colombia last June 21 to supposedly "strengthen" the existing security and defense relationship with the United States.  In addition, Burns arrived in that country on Thursday to participate in a "sensitive" mission that was also linked to the security issue, according to Colombian media.

And Nicolas Maduro asked: "Is President Joe Biden aware of the plans of Craig Faller and the director of the CIA to assassinate me and political and military leaders of Venezuela?  Yes or no!"

Previously, the Venezuelan head of state had denounced that new plans were being developed in Colombia to threaten peace, democracy and sovereignty of his country.
