Peruvian Congress begins session for the swearing in of Pedro Castillo

Lima, July 28 (RHC)-- The Congress of the Peruvian Republic began this Wednesday the solemn session for the Anniversary of the Independence of the nation, where the elected president, Pedro Castillo Terrones has officially taken the political power of the country.

Initially, the president of the National Parliament, María del Carmen Alva, welcomed the congressmen and then called the roll of those present.  Later, the Announcement Commission, headed by Congressman Alex Paredes (PL) plus eight members, went to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to invite Pedro Castillo to attend the Legislative.

Alva also appointed the Receiving Commission, chaired by Congressman Jaime Quito (PL) and like the Announcement Commission, it is formed by eight members.   The new president of Peru is expected to arrive at this venue around 11H00 local time (6H00 GMT) where, after being sworn in as head of the Peruvian Executive, he will deliver his first message to the nation.
