La Paz, August 17 (RHC)-- In Bolivia, 16 leaders of social groups have decided to unite in response to a possible coup d'état against the legitimately elected government of President Luis Arce.

This was made known by the former president and leader of the Movement Towards Socialism (MAS) party, Evo Morales, following the meeting where social groups came together.

In a message on his Twitter account, Evo Morales wrote: "Faced with threats from the right wing and civic groups of Santa Cruz who say they have a recipe to remove "dictator" Luis Arch, 16 executives of national social forces decided to defend our government and democratic revolution."

Last Monday, August 9th, about 15 social organizations, unions and labor federations offered a joint press conference where they denounced the destabilization attempts, and declared to be in a state of emergency in view of the events.

In this sense, the representatives of the Mining Workers Union Federation and the Confederation of Peasant Women reiterated their support for Luis Arce and their willingness to remain united in the face of the "recipes to overthrow the government" that the right wing insists it has.
