Caracas, November 6 (RHC)-- The government of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro rejected on Friday the "meddling" of the high representative for Foreign Policy of the European Union (EU), Josep Borrell, who spoke on issues related to Venezuelan migration and democracy.

"We reject your insistence and obsession against Venezuela," said the foreign minister of the South American nation, Felix Plasencia, in a series of tweets addressed to Borrell.

The Venezuelan foreign minister posed to the European official that "your pretense of giving lessons on democracy, freedom and prosperity should be devoted to attending to the needs of European citizens."

"You insist on dedicating your rhetoric against my country.  I remind you that Bolivarian Venezuela has leadership in cooperation, solidarity and development of our region; it is a land of opportunities for our people and millions of immigrants," he asserted.

The head of Venezuelan diplomacy invited the EU to the regional and municipal elections that the country will hold next November 21st, with the participation of some 70,000 candidates from all opposition political forces and the government coalition, the result of an inclusive dialogue.
