I love having my picture taken. I'm so damn handsome!
Miami, November 8 (RHC)-- Former U.S. President Donald Trump is set to hold a fundraiser at his Mar-a-Lago resort this week with GOP Senate candidate Blake Masters from Arizona, a traditionally “Red” state that flipped in the 2020 presidential election.
The Grand Canyon State surprised analysts after it turned “Blue” in the November 2019 race and endorsed now-President Joe Biden. Now the GOP leader plans to take action to endorse its candidate for the upper chamber of US Congress.
The event will be held on Wednesday and costs $2,900 for each person to attend. Those ready to pay $25,000 ahead of the event will also be granted a picture with the former president, who lost the normally Republican-leaning state in his 2020 race.
Prominent tech entrepreneurs and investors such as billionaire Peter Thiel, David Sacks and Joe Lonsdale as well as conservative donors Rebekah Mercer, Darren Blanton and J.J. Cafaro are reportedly taking part in the event.
Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich is competing with Masters in the Republican Senate field and it is reportedly not yet clear who Trump is going to endorse ultimately. Earlier this year, Trump criticized Brnovich, warning that he “must put himself in gear, or no Arizona Republican will vote for him in the upcoming elections.”
The Republicans appear to be energized in the wake of the Virginia victory in the governor's race, which liberals worry could be setting the stage for Democratic losses in future elections, including the upcoming 2022 midterms and even the 2024 presidential election that Trump hopes to win himself.
The victory came despite predictions for the victory of Terry McAuliffe, a past governor and close ally of the Clinton family, by U.S. President Joe Biden. Biden inherited an extremely divided nation after the 2020 presidential election, but as Trump never conceded to him, many of his supporters still do not consider the Democratic leader as the president.
