Brasilia, July 15 (RHC-Agencies)-- Russia and Brazil have agreed on the sale of a Russian anti-aircraft defense system for Brazil’s armed forces.

Visiting Russian President Vladimir Putin met with his Brazilian counterpart Dilma Rousseff on Monday for two hours behind closed doors to discuss bilateral relations. The two dignataries signed a series of agreements in many different fields, including defense.

The document establishes that Brazilian representatives will participate in maneuvers next month to demonstrate the effectiveness of the defense system. The deal stipulates that the sale could be completed “in the short term,” without any further details.
