Havana, February 14 (RHC)-- Bolivia's ambassador to Cuba, Eduardo Pardo, died Sunday of health problems in Havana at the age of 68, the Foreign Ministry of the South American country reported.

The Foreign Ministry expressed its condolences to the relatives of the diplomat, who in the middle of last year was appointed ambassador to Cuba by Bolivian President Luis Arce.

"Likewise, we join the feeling of loss that overwhelms them and hopes that they find strength in these moments of deep sorrow," the press release added.

The Foreign Ministry recalled that Pardo was an economist, university professor and diplomat. He was general manager of the Central Bank of Bolivia (BCB) in 2006, where he worked for 18 years.

President Arce, on his Twitter social network account, expressed: "We receive with deep regret the news of the death of the comrade of struggle and friend of the PS-1 (Socialist Party-1), the Bolivian ambassador to Cuba, Eduardo Pardo."
