Brasilia, February 15 (RHC)-- The leader of the Brazilian Workers' Party (PT), Luiz Inácio Lula Da Silva, announced Tuesday that he will fight to recover Brazil's international credibility, after the dire conditions of poverty and food insecurity generated by the current mandate of Jair Bolsonaro.

According to former President Lula, it is essential to reimplement the labor policy that guarantees prioritized care and respect for workers; as well as their assistance in the health centers of the South American country.

"It is to fix this country, to put the poor back in the budget, to generate employment and to make people buy again what is necessary for their survival that I am willing to become president of the Republic again," he said.

Lula pointed out that it will be a difficult process due to the fact that the nation is going through a devastating crisis, which urgently requires the reconstruction of the democratic-popular system in the country.

In this sense, Lula asserted that Brazil needs measures and actions to combat the polarization of society, the health emergency in which it is immersed, as well as the promotion of the relationship between investments and social justice.

Lula da Silva is the favorite in the polls that have been carried out on the possible candidates for the Presidency of the country, in view of the next presidential elections scheduled for October 2nd.

According to the polls, Lula would obtain more than 40 or 45 percent of votes in favor in the elections, if he participates in them.
