Caracas, July 21 (PL-RHC) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping concluded a two-day visit to Venezuela on Monday, as part of his tour of Latin America.
The program included the closing of the XIII Joint China-Venezuela High Commission and a meeting with parliamentarians on Monday at the Legislative Palace, officials sources reported.
The joint business meeting was opened Saturday by Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Elias Jaua, in which he stressed the importance of strengthening the traditional relations between the two countries.
Venezuelan and Chinese people are undergoing a process of mutual acquaintance and recognition that makes for shorter cultural and geographical distances; and therefore, this relation is strengthened in that permanent approach, said the Foreign Minister.
With a more intense approach in the last years, relations between China and Venezuela consolidated after the creation of the Joint Chinese-Venezuelan Fund in 2001.
Both countries also established the Strategic Partnership for Shared Development and the Joint High Commission, held on 13 occasions.
