Caracas, July 12 (RHC)-- The Venezuelan Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Carlos Faría, held a meeting on Monday with the Director General for the Americas of the European External Action Service, Brian Glynn, to evaluate cooperation in order to strengthen relations.

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister said that his country is willing to increase its ties with the European Union (EU) always based on principles of peace and mutual respect.

Both parties also agreed to enhance cooperation in the energy, environmental and health sectors, as well as in other fields of mutual interest.  To which they added the need to strengthen cooperation at the level of regional blocs, and in correspondence with factors based on the welfare of the peoples that integrate them.

Thus, the Bolivarian Republic ratified its willingness to dialogue and peace diplomacy with the EU, despite the hostile and interfering stance of some of its members, which remain attached to the interests of the United States and its aggressions against Venezuela.

In 2021 exports in Venezuela were set at almost 3,006 million euros, so that sales abroad constituted 34.98 percent of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

This increase attests to the evolution of trade between Venezuela and the EU, fostering mutual access between markets; boosting foreign trade and generating new commercial opportunities.
