President Nayib Bukele celebrated security achieved in El Salvador
Havana, March 27 (RHC) President Nayib Bukele celebrated this Monday the security achieved by El Salvador one year after the emergency regime was implemented and the war against gangs remained active.
The president argued that that March 2023 is close to becoming the safest in the history of El Salvador, according to the official records of the National Civil Police (PNC). In this sense, he recalled that exactly one year ago, the country closed the day with 62 homicides, and considered that day as one of the most difficult of his life and of the Salvadoran government.
“Now, one year later, we closed with zero homicides, and March 2023 is close to being the safest month in our entire history”, he highlighted in a message on social networks.
While the Minister of Justice and Security, Gustavo Villatoro, during an appearance on the program Frente a Frente of the Salvadoran Television Corporation, declared that for the 6.2 million Salvadorans the emergency regime is hope and has more than 96 percent support from the population.
The headline explained that the gangs wanted to implement a parallel regime in the country. He also stressed that gang actions had an impact on youth, both girls and boys. He stated that after the application of security measures, the government regained control of the national territory, hit the gang structures, arrested 10 of the national leaders and more than 1,100 leaders.
