China denounces United States violation of human rights

Havana, March 28 (RHC) China denounced this Tuesday that during 2022 the United States committed extreme violations of human rights by imposing unilateral sanctions against countries such as Cuba, Syria and Iran, and keeping the Guantanamo prison open.
A report by the Information Office of the State Council (Cabinet) referred to the imposition of these punitive policies affecting the population of those countries with less access to food and medicine, and an increase in humanitarian crises.
China defined the United States as the most prolific sanctioner in the world because "it has measures in force against more than 20 nations, including Cuba since 1962, Iran since 1979, Syria since 2011, and Afghanistan in recent years."
In the case of the Caribbean island, the report deplored the persistence of the economic, financial and commercial blockade despite strong condemnation from the international community.
"On November 3, 2022, the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization voted for the thirtieth time to condemn the economic, financial and commercial embargo (blockade) against Cuba, with the support of 185 of the 193 members," the text read.
At another time, the article mentioned Washington's refusal to close the prison opened at the Guantánamo naval base in 2002 and within an occupied territory in the largest of the Antilles.
It deplored the sending to prison of some 780 individuals without trial and the inhumane treatment to which they are subjected.
Likewise, the Chinese text recalled that last year independent experts from the UN Council on Human Rights condemned the existence of the prison at the Guantánamo naval base, demanded to close it and prosecute those responsible for the crimes committed there.
The six-part Cabinet document listed facts, figures, and the opinions of experts and international organizations about the United States' backsliding on protecting those guarantees during 2022 and how the continued violations exacerbated political, social, and economic problems inside and outside its cabinet. territory.
