Beijing, September 12 (RHC)-- Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro arrived Tuesday in the Chinese capital, Beijing, where he is expected to hold a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Upon his arrival at Beijing's South Station, the Venezuelan president was received by the director general of the Latin America and Caribbean Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
President Maduro arrived in the Chinese capital after visiting and holding activities in the cities of Shenzhen (southeast) and Shanghai (east) and the eastern province of Shandong.
During his visit to Shanghai, the Venezuelan head of state met with the president of the New Brics Development Bank, former Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff, where he highlighted the importance of Venezuela's relationship with the Brics and stressed that the bloc and the financial entity have in Venezuela "a partner, an ally, a friend".
President Nicolás Maduro's visit to China is part of the strengthening of relations between the two countries, which have grown closer in recent years. China has been an integral partner for Venezuela, and Maduro's visit seeks to further strengthen cooperation in various fields, including economic, technological and diplomatic.
