Gaza City, November 17 (RHC)-- Despite the ongoing Israeli bombardment, rescuers and paramedics working with the Palestine Red Crescent Society continue to operate in Gaza as the Israeli-Hamas conflict enters its 42nd day.

In a video posted on X, the humanitarian group said that paramedics and rescuers are facing “extremely harsh conditions”, with some of them “not being spared” from the attacks as the war goes on.

At least four members of the Palestine Red Crescent Society have been killed since the October 7 conflict began, while 22 others have been wounded.  The statement said that workers are also dealing with “the psychological impact of witnessing daily bloodshed while being separated from their families and children.”

“Their sense of security, once assured by wearing the emblem, is no longer sufficient due to the experiences they have endured since October 7,” said Nisreen Qawas, the organisation’s head of the mental health and psychological support unit.
