Ramallah, February 6 (RHC)-- The Palestinian health ministry says at least 107 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours, as the Israeli regime continues its brutal aggression on the besieged territory.

The ministry said in a statement on Tuesday that the latest toll brings the total number of deaths to 27,585 since Israel launched its genocidal war against Gaza in early October.  It added that a total of 66,978 people have also been wounded in the blockaded territory.

The latest development comes as U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is on a tour in the region, purportedly seeking a new truce and an end to Israel’s war on Gaza.  Blinken, who is on a tour of West Asia to discuss the Gaza truce, has held several meetings with Israel’s war cabinet throughout the ongoing genocidal campaign, while his department and the Biden administration have consistently provided unwavering support to Israel and facilitated the daily delivery of weapons and ammunition.

Blinken earlier held talks in Riyadh with the Saudi crown prince on Monday.  He arrived in Egypt on Tuesday and will later fly to Qatar where he will meet the emir and the prime minister.  He is then scheduled to depart for Tel Aviv in the evening.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said Israel is receiving Blinken by “escalating its crimes and genocide against our people, targeting civilians, preventing access to basic needs, and continuing to destroy the Gaza Strip.”  It went on to say that Israel will welcome Blinken “amid the deepening fragmentation of the West Bank, the continued attacks of the settlers, and the deployment of more checkpoints, paralyzing the movement of citizens.”

The ministry further noted that the occupying regime has crammed more than 1.3 million Palestinians into Rafah, amid threats to invade the southern city and “commit more massacres.”  Israel waged its brutal war on besieged Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian Hamas resistance group carried out an unprecedented operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

So far, the Tel Aviv regime has killed at least 27,585 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 67,000 others.

The Tel Aviv regime has imposed a “complete siege” on the territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.
