Gaza City, May 29 (RHC)-- Israeli forces carried out fresh air strikes in southern Gaza’s Rafah overnight and in the early hours of the morning as tanks pushed through to the center of a city that was a “safe zone” until recently for Palestinians fleeing attacks by Israeli forces elsewhere in the territory.
The French news agency AFP said that its journalists in Rafah reported new strikes early Wednesday, hours after witnesses and a Palestinian security source said Israeli tanks had penetrated the heart of the city.
“People are currently inside their homes because anyone who moves is being shot at by Israeli drones,” Rafah resident Abdel Khatib told AFP.
