Mexico City, June 25 (RHC)-- Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador celebrated the release of Julian Assange from prison in London.

During the morning of this Tuesday, at his daily press briefing, the president said he was very pleased with the news of Julian's release.

A staunch defender of Julián Assange, López Obrador mentioned the Statue of Liberty, noting that now “it did not remain an empty symbol.”

“We are very happy about Julian's release from prison.  It was very unfair."
