Gaza City, June 29 (RHC)-- The Gaza resistance has launched reprisal attacks on Israeli forces invading the Shujaya neighborhood in Gaza City, killing and wounding Israeli troopers in multiple attacks. 

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, said its forces engaged in close combat with invading Israeli forces in the neighborhood, killing and injuring a number of them, which led helicopters to enter the region to evacuate them.  They also reported hitting a Merkava 4 tank with a Yasin-105 shell and targeting a gathering of Israeli soldiers and vehicles on Baghdad Street with mortar shells.

The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, affiliated with the Palestinian Fatah party, said they blew up an Israeli military vehicle using a bomb in the neighborhood, setting the vehicle on fire and killing or injuring those inside.

The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, also engaged in clashes with Israeli forces and inflicted casualties on them.  They reported hitting a gathering of Zionist vehicles infiltrating the Shujaya neighborhood with mortar shells.

Israeli media have reported that three Israeli soldiers have so far been killed on Friday in the strip.
The Israeli regime admits 668 of its soldiers have been killed since October 7, with thousands more injured.

But resistance groups say the regime heavily censors information on its casualties and underreports the number killed.

The regime has launched a major attack on the Shujaya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City since Thursday, with warplanes repeatedly bombarding the region and tanks pushing into the territory.

The Israeli army has called on Palestinians in Shejaiya to evacuate the area and head toward the so-called humanitarian zones in the Strip’s south.  The regime had earlier claimed it had eliminated the resistance in Gaza City and other regions. However, it has launched various attacks in recent days to fight what it calls regrouped Palestinian fighters.
