Tehran, August 16 (RHC)-- Former Iranian diplomat Amir al-Mousawi reported on Wednesday, in an interview with the Arab media Al Mayadeen, that his nation has received threats of a nuclear attack.
The former diplomat also stressed that, if a nuclear attack occurs against Iranian territory, the aggressor will have a proportional response. In this regard, al-Mousawi specified that those who issued the threats would be given much more forceful responses.
Amir al-Mousawi also called for not taking into account the unjustified assertions about Iranian “cowardice” that are spread on social networks. Al-Mousawi stressed Iran’s ability to neutralize the Zionist entity and its partners, with all its power.
Earlier, Iranian President Masoud Mezikian said that “if the West seeks to avoid insecurity in the region, they should immediately stop supporting the Zionists.”
The president issued the warning in light of the concern over the escalation of conflict in the region after the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political office of the Hamas movement.
“Iran considers avoiding war and trying to establish world peace and security as one of its fundamental principles, but within the framework of international treaties and laws, it will never remain silent in the face of violations of its interests and security,” Mezikian said.
