Caracas, August 25 (RHC)-- Venezuela is celebrating the second National Popular Consultation this Sunday, as part of the construction of a new State based on popular power.  A number of invited guests are in Venezuela to observe his historic process.   Among those in Venezuela to learn from this revolutionary process are Cuban Hero of the Revolution Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo and social activist, internationalist and director of The People's Forum in New York City, Manolo De Los Santos.

In Caracas, the Minister of Communes and Social Movements, Ángel Prado, explained that millions of Venezuelans are voting today on seven projects, and that the one with the most votes will be the project that will have the funding to be executed in the short term.

President Nicolas Maduro recently announced that there will be four popular consultations at the national level each year.

Local and national authorities have called on citizens to vote, assuring that the act represents a step forward in the construction of a new State that leaves behind the capitalist-bourgeois and bureaucratic logic, to give way to an institutionality based on Popular Power, direct participation and the sovereignty of the people.
