The Turkish foreign minister said his country is keen to cooperate with Iran on leading regional and international developments, particularly the ongoing tensions in the West Asia region.

Iran pursues ‘strategic’ view to Latin America: Araqchi

In a phone conversation with Venezuela's Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto on Saturday, Araqchi said Iran continues to pursue a “strategic” view to the Latin American countries.

The top Iranian diplomat added that Venezuela has a special position in the Islamic Republic’s foreign policy.  He pointed to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s congratulations to his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro on his victory in the presidential election and condemned any act of intervention in the Latin America’s internal affairs.

The Venezuelan foreign minister, for his part, expressed hope that both Tehran and Caracas will pursue the implementation of the agreements and documents aimed at bolstering cooperation.

Araqchi and Pinto expressed the two countries’ readiness to exchange high-level delegations and continue talks in order to advance issues on the agenda of relations and find new areas of cooperation.
