Caracas, September 10 (RHC)-- The Allience for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP)’s member states have welcome Venezuela’s actions in response to the request for political asylum submitted to the Spain by the former presidential candidate Edmundo González Urrutia.

“ALBA-TCP applauds this democratic act, in strict compliance with the rules of International Law, which is an unequivocal demonstration of the Venezuelan government’s genuine interest in guaranteeing peace and tranquility to the Venezuelan people,” says the statement published by ALBA-TCP.

It also recalled the fact of Venezuela is resolving its internal affairs in accordance with its own legally stipulated time-lines, laws and institutions, in full exercise of its sovereignty and self-determination, in compliance with the international legal framework.

“The Bolivarian Alliance reiterates its support for the Venezuelan people and government, cradle of the Convention on Diplomatic Asylum, and demands that internal and external extremist factors, which aim at chaos and destabilization, respect the decisions of this sovereign and independent country,” says the organisation.
