Madrid, September 12 (RHC)-- In Madrid, the Spanish congress voted Wednesday to recognize right-wing opposition leader and former presidential candidate Edmundo González as president-elect of Venezuela, just days after he was granted asylum in Spain and flew to the capital.

But -- in an apparent contradiction among all contradictions --  Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who has met with Gonzalez, said he will not recognize González as Venezuela’s president.
