Gaza City, September 22 (RHC)-- The Palestinian Minister of Health, Abu Ramadan, has denounced that the number of medical workers killed in the Gaza Strip due to Israeli attacks has exceeded 990.

Ramadan attributed the casualties to Israeli attacks on hospitals and their facilities, which have put numerous medical centers out of service; in addition, he denounced the kidnapping of more than 300 members of the medical staff.

The minister's disclosure of the death toll was preceded by a strong condemnation of the atrocious acts committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip against "strong defenders of humanitarian health."

On the same day, Ramadan reported that five employees of the Ministry of Health were killed and others wounded in an attack on the entity's warehouses in Musabah, Rafah, aimed at depleting resources.  The minister also noted that Israeli bombings have rendered 130 ambulances inoperative and triggered a wave of attacks that has completely destabilized the health system in the occupied West Bank.

Abu Ramadan emphasized that health workers, in addition to suffering deliberate attacks, face a series of crimes and violence by the Israeli occupation.

All this combined with the possibility that humanitarian aid may stop reaching Gaza due to the worsening conflict further darkens the situation for civilians in the region.
