Brasilia, September 28 (RHC)-- Justice of the Supreme Federal Court of Brazil, Alexandre de Moraes, has denied the lifting of the suspension of the social network X in the country and conditioned the reactivation of the platform to the payment of a fine of 1.8 million dollars.

The Brazilian judge also established new resolutions to allow the normal operation of the social network in the South American country.  According to Alexandre de Moraes, the platform owned by billionaire Elon Musk will be punished for failing to comply for two days with his orders to suspend the use of a server that allowed it to temporarily bypass the block last week.

He also made X's return conditional on its legal representative in Brazil, Rachel de Oliveira Villa Nova, paying a fine of $55,000.

The social network X has been suspended in Brazil since August 31st by order of the justice of the Supreme Federal Court, ruling that X failed to comply with court orders requiring it to delete profiles of those investigated by the Court for publishing messages considered anti-democratic.

But last Wednesday, X was again accessible in Brazil thanks to a technical maneuver that allowed it to bypass the block, before stopping working again the next day, after complying with a court order.

In a tweet posted on his Global Government Affairs account, the owner of X said he was "dedicated to protecting freedom of expression within the limits of the law" and that he respects "the sovereignty of the countries" where he operates.

Judge Moraes accuses the social network X of allowing the spread of information that threatens democracy.
