Gaza City, October 7 (RHC)-- The daily statistical report on the number of martyrs and wounded by the ongoing Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023 announces that the deaths increased to 41,909, while 97,303 are reported. Of the total number of martyrs, 60% are women and children.

During the last 24 hours, the Israeli occupation committed 4 massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, resulting in 39 martyrs and 137 wounded, announced the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

In a statement issued by the health institution after the one-year anniversary of the last major Israeli massacre in the Gaza Strip, the doctors saluted and recognized the medical staff in the various workplaces, who have been providing medical care since the first aggressions.

Doctors explained that the number of martyrs in the health sector reached 986, 4 of them inside Israeli prisons, out of 312 who have been detained by the Zionist army.  After a year of genocide in the Gaza Strip, statistics reveal that the occupation is focused on the destruction of the health system, as approximately 65% of these institutions (whether private, international or governmental) were targeted by Israeli attacks.

The rest of the health institutions are partially functioning due to the lack of drinking water and the destruction of infrastructure and sewage networks.

Systematic attacks on the health sector have deprived more than one million people of basic health services, leaving more than 50,000 pregnant women without maternity care and 12,000 cancer patients, whose bodies are ravaged by disease, without basic treatments, including painkillers.

Hundreds of dialysis patients have died because of the lack of medical care and dialysis services in many hospitals. Estimates also indicate that more than half of the martyrs have died because of the lack of medical services.
