Caracas, October 13 (RHC)-- Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil announced that almost 14 tons of humanitarian aid donated by the Venezuelan people are on their way to Syria and Lebanon, as a gesture of solidarity and support to those brotherly peoples.
On Saturday, the Venezuelan people and Government sent to Syria and Lebanon almost 14 tons of humanitarian aid, a donation that responds to a call launched last Monday, October 7, one year after the beginning of the current Israeli genocide against Arab nations.
Since October 7th, a collection center was activated at the headquarters of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, located in the Yellow House in front of Plaza Bolivar, where thousands of Venezuelans donated humanitarian supplies destined for Lebanon.
The sending-off of the Conviasa aircraft which is carrying the donations, at the Simón Bolívar International Airport of Maiquetía, in the state of La Guaria, was attended by the Vice Minister for Asia, Middle East and Oceania of the Foreign Ministry, Tatiana Pugh, and Ambassadors Elías Lebbos and Kenan Zaher Al Deen, from Lebanon and Syria, respectively.
According to Pugh, this initiative of President Nicolás Maduro seeks to alleviate the suffering of this community that is being massacred. The flight, which will land in the next few hours, will deliver aid to Lebanon and Lebanese communities that have fled to Syria to protect their lives from Zionist bombardment. The consignment includes almost 14 tons of medical surgical material such as gloves, needles, masks, probes, as well as non-perishable food and diapers, among others, totaling almost 11 thousand items.
Foreign Minister Yván Gil affirmed that with this humanitarian aid Venezuela is sending a message of solidarity and encouragement to the peoples of the Middle East who are currently experiencing a catastrophe due to Zionist attacks.
The top Venezuelan diplomat also indicated that “President Nicolás Maduro is sending a message to the peoples of Palestine, Lebanon, Iran and Syria, that they are not alone in this aggression by Israel; they have the support and backing of Venezuela, which will always be hand in hand with the Arab people...”
