Caracas, November 2 (RHC)--  Caracas, the Venezuelan capital, received this Friday a delegation from the Government of Colombia to get the peace dialogue process with the National Liberation Army (ELN) back on track.

For the Colombian Government, the delegation is headed by Vera Grabe, who will sit at the dialogue table this weekend with the ELN delegation, represented by Pablo Beltrán.

The ELN will resume the dialogues that are at a complex moment due to the Government's desire to achieve Total Peace.

During the last meeting on May 26th, they announced the first major agreement related to citizen participation in the construction of the Peace Accords, the first of the six points on the agenda.

The dialogue table between the Colombian Government and the National Liberation Army (ELN) intends to advance in the elaboration of a Peace Agreement that will put an end to decades of armed conflict in the nation.

This political will is intended to achieve Total Peace promoted by President Gustavo Petro, who has reiterated his responsibility to achieve agreements with all illegal armed groups.

This process has faced numerous difficulties due to the complexity of the conflict, its relationship with the Colombian-Venezuelan border and the impact on rural communities.

Since its inception in the 1960s, the ELN has been a significant challenge for the Colombian State and the territories under its influence, but it also represents an opportunity to advance the urgent and necessary transformations of the nation.
