La Paz, November 4 (RHC)-- Diplomatic representatives of Bolivia abroad reaffirmed in a statement their "unquestionable loyalty to President Luis Arce and the people."

In a joint statement, officials of the Andean Nation abroad valued Evo Morales' invitation to resign from anti-democratic and reactionary suggestions that harm the economy and democracy.

On the contrary, they demanded that "those destabilizing and anti-democratic sectors renounce the blockade, violence, confrontation, the suffocation of the economy and the defense of personal interests that seek impunity, because these actions go against the economy and the stability of the country."

The letter comes after the call for a hunger strike by former president Evo Morales, who called on "senior officials, directors, vice-ministers, ministers and ambassadors not to be accomplices of the worst government in history," and invited them to resign, because "it will be a clear signal in favor of the people."

More than 50 diplomats signed the statement in response to Morales' request and to the blockades that pursue the re-election of the former president and his expulsion from legal proceedings, including for having maintained a relationship with a minor under 15 years of age.

"The intention of those who ask us to resign clearly shows their contempt for democratic institutions," states the statement, which also denounces "evident attempts at destabilization" with the blockades that "only seek impunity and social upheaval, attributing demands that do not correspond to the central level."

This Sunday marks 21 days since the road blockade, amid incidents of violence against the authorities who began the unblocking and the press that reported the operations. The government began and strengthened the unblocking of roads in Parotani on Friday, one of the most disputed issues of the intense pressure, and assured that the measures will continue.

«We will not give up, we will not run away!  Our loyalty is unwavering, with our president and with our people,» the diplomatic representatives agreed in a public statement.
