Lansing, November 4 (RHC)-- The vice president and Democratic candidate for the presidency of the United States, Kamala Harris, said this Sunday in the crucial state of Michigan that, if she wins the elections on Tuesday, she will strive to end Israel's aggression in Gaza and Lebanon, and provide the Palestinians with the "dignity" they deserve.
At a rally in East Lansing, the candidate focused directly on the Arab community, an essential group to get the 15 Electoral College votes in the state, in order to recognize "that this year has been difficult due to the death and destruction in Gaza and the deaths and displacement of civilians in Lebanon."
"As president, I will do everything in my power to end the war in Gaza, return the hostages to their homes and end the suffering in Gaza, guarantee the security of Israel and make sure that the Palestinian people can achieve their right to dignity, freedom, security and self-determination," Harris said.
The Arab vote in Michigan is crucial to tip the balance on Tuesday in favor of the Democrats, who with President Joe Biden in 2020 managed to surpass Republican Donald Trump by more than 20 points.
However, this year polls give Trump a lead in voting intention among Arabs, who could abandon Harris for her participation in the Biden administration, which continues to support Israel with weapons in its actions in Gaza, Lebanon or Yemen.
At this rally, Harris did not mention Trump even once by name, but she showed the discrepancies with his policies and his personality, while seeking to communicate a positive message.
Former president and Republican candidate Donald Trump doubled down on his attacks on his Democratic opponent at a rally in the crucial state of Georgia on Sunday, saying: “Go away. Go away. You're fired,” after calling her “the worst vice president in the history” of the country.
“Kamala talks about fixing the economy, but why doesn't she do it? She's not going to do anything. She's incapable of doing it. "His plan will impose the largest tax increase in U.S. history on families," said the former governor in the city of Macon, in the 'swing' state of Georgia.
