Caracas, November 5 (RHC)-- The vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, assured at the World Anti-Fascist Parliamentary Forum that his country "stopped fascism in its tracks" in the last presidential elections on July 28th.
"When we tell you that we put a stop to fascism on July 28th, we claim that great victory. It has not been easy and we have had the support of the free peoples of the world and friendly governments, who know what really happened with Venezuela,” he said.
He also stressed the need for unity in the fight against fascism, neo-fascism and similar expressions. “It is not just Venezuela. It is not just Cuba. Going for Venezuela is going for all of America, for the free peoples, who have not surrendered to imperialism,” he stressed.
He also assured that “fascism, neo-fascism and similar expressions, arise with great force” and asserted “that Zionism is exactly the same.”
In this sense, the vice president recalled that hegemonic policies emerged in the last century, but we experienced similar expressions here 500 years ago, when the Spanish empire arrived, and compared it with the Spanish Government's confrontation with the tragedy of Valencia, “they showed up five days later in their royal robes and the people demanded it.”
He also compared colonization with what is happening in the Gaza Strip, “in addition to taking over our lands, very similar to what Israel is doing with the people of Palestine.”
“They say that the genocide of the conquest is the greatest in all of history, of all time, and the Spanish empire wants us to thank them, because they came to teach us, they are immoral, just as immoral is the imperialism of the United States that supports Israel, just as immoral are the governments of the European Union that shamelessly support fascism in Ukraine, against the brothers of the Russian Federation,” said Diosdado Cabello.
He also stressed that the people of Argentina will face fascism and described them as noble fighters, who do not give up and with a fighting spirit. “We have extraordinary faith that sooner rather than later the Argentine people will raise their voice against the fascism that they are trying to sow in Argentina,” he said.
Regarding the United States, he said that “it is not new that the U.S. feels like the world's policeman, it is not new that the U.S. supports the barbarities of the world, it is not new that ambition that they have had.”
He also quoted the phrase of Simon Bolivar in which he affirms that this country “seems destined by providence to plague all of America with misery in the name of freedom” and contextualized that “today Bolivar would have to say that the United States seems destined by providence to plague the entire world with misery in the name of freedom, because the ambition of the United States is excessive and it follows very easy partners who are very accommodating to what the United States wants.”
