Caracas, November 30 (RHC)-- The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, proposed this Friday to build a new communications network power to confront the disinformation promoted by the hegemonic media and social networks.
During his speech at the International Conference in Solidarity with Palestine, which is being held in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, the president urged to reach new consensus to do more for Palestine, since there are still many people in the world who are misinformed about what is really happening in the Gaza Strip.
"I propose to build a new power of communication network to confront the misinformation for the truth of the people, throughout all continents, with all languages and in all existing social networks and those that will be born as alternatives," he stressed.
The Venezuelan leader reflected that the imperialist elites of the United States and Israel "act by planning the most powerful war there is, which is the communication war: the war for the human mind," with the purpose of destroying the history and identity of the people, replacing it with anti-values and normalizing fascism.
He also stressed that, as the Spanish-French journalist Ignacio Ramonet says, social networks have already become hegemonic in the world of communications, culture and daily life.
He stressed that as an instrument of communication power, social networks reach the telephone directly as part of personalized communication and, through artificial intelligence, organize global campaigns.
Maduro recalled that at the last BRICS Summit held in the Russian city of Kazan, last October, he met with world leaders and told them that "we have many tasks to advance in education, technology and culture, but the great global task we have is to defend our children, our girls, our youth and our people from the poisonous intoxication of the social networks of the West, of imperialism."
He also warned that Israel presents the genocide it commits in the Gaza Strip as if it were carried out in self-defense. Meanwhile, the United States operates under the diplomacy of deception, as it is not truly interested in peace.
"Even the leaders of the U.S. Government in office are careful not to say a word to justify the aggression and try to appear as managers of the ceasefire and the search for peace, under the diplomacy of deception. Let no one believe that the United States is interested in peace anywhere in the world," he stressed.
