Caracas, December 2 (RHC)-- The Member States of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People's Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) issued a statement this Sunday in which they express their solidarity with the Syrian people and Government.

In the letter, the Member States expressed their strong rejection of the violent events reported in Aleppo and other areas of the country, “promoted by terrorist groups seeking to attack the constitutional government of President Bashar Al Assad.”

In this way, the Bolivarian Alliance called on the international community to “strongly, unequivocally and without hesitation reject these criminal acts, which seek to divide and destroy a millennial multicultural society in a country that has had to face and endure a war for more than 13 years, driven by external interests.”

“The Bolivarian Alliance demands full respect for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of this sister Arab nation and the free determination of the Syrian people, as well as their will and right to live in peace under the system of government of their choice, in strict adherence to the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and International Law,” the text states.

Member nations of the Alliance “reiterated their confidence in the capacity of the Syrian people and Government to sovereignly build their destiny, without foreign interference and where peace and justice prevail.”

Last Wednesday, Hayat Tahrir al Sham, an extremist alliance led by the former Syrian branch of Al Qaeda, and its allies launched an offensive in the aforementioned provinces, in the northwest.

So far, the Syrian Ministry of Defense said that the Armed Forces have neutralized around 1,000 terrorists during the last days of fighting, and that among the cities liberated by the Armed Forces are Mardes and Qalet Al-Madiq.

Countries such as Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Turkey and Russia, as well as the Arab League, also condemned the attacks by terrorist groups in Syrian territories, which have left at least 180 dead.
