Caracas, January 11 (RHC)-- The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, swore in Nicolás Maduro Moros as president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on Friday, a ceremony that took place at the headquarters of the Legislative Palace.

The head of state was re-elected for the period 2025-2031 during the presidential elections of June 28, with 6,408,844 votes (about 52 percent of the votes).

In a sign of symbolism, the oath was taken on a copy of the Bolivarian Constitution signed by Commander Hugo Chávez.  Jorge Rodríguez reaffirmed the sovereignty of the Venezuelan people.
