The Venezuelan foreign minister stressed that several consulates have been the target of attacks by extremists, who, according to him, seek to cause the same damage to diplomatic facilities that they try to inflict on the "beloved Bolivarian Homeland."

Caracas, January 14 (RHC)-- The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Relations of Venezuela, Yván Gil, has made an urgent call to the authorities of Lisbon (Portugal), Frankfurt (Germany), Medellín (Colombia), Vigo (Spain) and San José (Costa Rica) to carry out thorough investigations related to the recent attacks on Venezuelan consular offices.

Through the social networks, the foreign minister denounced that these acts are part of a "coordinated action by the commandos of unhinged fascism."

Gil stressed that several consulates have been the object of attacks by extremists, who seek to cause damage to diplomatic facilities that they try to inflict on the "beloved Bolivarian Homeland."  In this context, he urged the governments involved to guarantee the integrity of diplomatic headquarters, as established by the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

The foreign minister also pointed out that "the fascist hatred inoculated, stimulated and protected for years abroad" is the main cause behind these attacks. This statement comes at a time when political and social tension is intensifying in various regions of the world.

A recent example of these attacks occurred last Sunday, when the Galician Bolivarian Hugo Chavez Association (Agabo) issued a statement condemning acts of vandalism perpetrated by far-right groups against the Venezuelan Consulate in Vigo, Spain.

The building was covered in graffiti derogatory to President Nicolas Maduro and had visible damage to its windows and front facade.

These incidents have caused concern among Venezuelan authorities, who see them as a manifestation of the growing political extremism that threatens not only their diplomatic representations, but also regional stability.

The demand for speedy investigations reflects the need to protect the rights and security of Venezuelan diplomatic missions abroad.
