Caracas, Jan. 20 (RHC) Venezuela's Defense Minister, Chief General Vladimir Padrino, on Monday explained the strategic nature of the Bolivarian Shield 2025 exercise that will be held throughout the country in defense of peace and democracy.
This new popular-military-police exercise will take place on January 22 and 23 "with an unmatched strategic, operational and tactical level," said the Sectoral Vice President for Political Sovereignty, Security and Peace in a press release.
Padrino explained that the interoperability between organized people, military units and civil security organs will be optimized in its different phases, deploying with greater synchronization multiple weapon systems and mixed rapid reaction units.
The Commander-in-Chief pointed out that "operations that guarantee the military defense and internal order of the country" will be put into practice.
In addition to ensuring the functioning of basic services and the security of strategic installations, "at the same time we will make our cities and borders secure throughout the national geographic space," he affirmed.
"The sons and daughters of (Simón) Bolivar and (Hugo) Chávez are not resting in their irreducible commitment to defend the dignity, freedom, sovereignty and independence of our beloved homeland," he said.
Padrino expressed the "unfathomable pride" that the entire nation has begun a new year marked by the triumph of democracy and institutions.
He stressed that this was demonstrated and consolidated last January 10th with the swearing-in and inauguration of Nicolás Maduro as Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic and Commander-in-Chief for the period 2025-2031.
However, he warned that "internal and external enemies, in their frustration, do not stop generating threats and aggressions to create fear and instability, but they will never succeed," he warned.
Maduro announced yesterday the celebration of the Bolivarian Shield Exercise 2025 on January 22 and 23.
"Let's do the great exercise for peace," said the leader in his Telegram account from a gym where he was training.
He affirmed that this will be the first popular-military-police exercise of 2025, in which they will defend "borders, coasts, cities, vital elements of the country".
The head of state called for marching together in perfect popular military-police fusion to "demonstrate that Venezuela has the power to live in peace, in the exercise of its full sovereignty, in democracy and freedom.
