Caracas, January 26 (RHC)-- The Foreign Minister of Venezuela, Yván Gil, affirms that since August 2024 the country broke all types of relations with the Government of Chile, in response to statements by the Chilean Minister of the Interior, Carolina Tohá.

“Let's get in touch with reality,” said the Foreign Minister while pointing out that “Venezuela expelled them from the homeland of Bolívar and we broke all relations, also withdrawing all our personnel from Chile, all this because we were dragged along by the gringos.”

The Venezuelan minister also added that “these Chilean bureaucrats and diplomats on social media are very funny and ridiculous. They are so eager to sing along to the empire that they forget reality.”

“As long as the government imitating Sebastián Piñera does not assume a dignified role and one of respect for our country, there will be no possible relationship,” stressed Yván Gil.

The Chilean Minister of the Interior, Carolina Tohá, insisted this Friday that the Executive will not break relations with Venezuela. This after the Venezuelan Government was arbitrarily accused of being involved in the murder, last February, of the former Venezuelan military man Ronald Ojeda in Santiago de Chile (capital).

Meanwhile, the Minister of the Interior, Carolina Tohá, threatened to resort to the International Criminal Court.

The Venezuelan government, together with its Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), announced the deactivation of the criminal group El Tren de Aragua on January 20, while declaring that members of this gang were in other Latin American territories, including Chile.

On the other hand, the Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, had denounced on January 23, 2025 that the criminal organization known as the Tren de Aragua has close ties with leaders of the extreme right.

In this context, the Public Ministry of Venezuela requested on January 22, 2025 to hand over the members and cells of the criminal gang that were in other territories.

In this sense, on Wednesday, January 22, two individuals from the Tren de Aragua were arrested in Chile, one of them has a "direct" relationship with the murder, last February, of the former Venezuelan military man Ronald Ojeda, according to what the Chilean Prosecutor's Office communicated to EFE.
