Caracas, February 27 (RHC)-- The White House has suspended an agreement between Washington and Caracas, ending the oil export licenses granted to Venezuela, as stipulated by his predecessor, Joe Biden.

The executive vice president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, considered the new announcement by the United States to sanction the U.S. oil company Chevron, which reached an agreement with Caracas during the Biden administration, to be harmful.

Previously, from Washington, President Trump stated that as of March 1st, that agreement will be suspended.

Vice President Delcy Rodriguez said that the decision intends to “harm the Venezuelan people,” however, she clarified that “in reality, harm is being inflicted on the United States, its population, and its companies.”

Following this line, Delcy Rodríguez emphasized that Trump’s decision puts “the legal security of the United States in its international investment regime in question.”

The Venezuelan official stressed that “the Constitutional Government of Venezuela and its people, in great national unity, categorically reject this type of actions publicly requested by the extremist and failed opposition of the country.”

At the same time, she stressed that “Venezuela highlights that this type of failed actions drove migration from 2017 to 2021 with the widely known consequences.”

“Venezuela will continue its path of comprehensive economic recovery, guaranteeing it with the creative effort of all and in absolute adherence to its sovereignty and national independence,” she added.

Finally, the message on the Vice President's Telegram channel indicates that, "as one of the liberators of South America, José Gervasio Artigas, said: "Let us not expect anything but from ourselves."

The agreement between Venezuela and the oil company Chevron is based on exports from the South American nation to the United States, a production that, during the Biden Government in 2022, had been decided to increase.

In addition, the Chevron oil company under that prerogative was allowed to operate in Venezuela until the end of next July.

Now, due to Trump's measure, the company will be forced to withdraw from the South American nation, affecting, as the vice president emphasizes, the United States and its people.
