Brussels, March 6 (RHC)-- The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) has officially filed a criminal complaint against an Israeli soldier for participating in war crimes in the besieged Gaza Strip.

The complaint, recently submitted against Shay Friedman to the German authorities, outlines serious allegations.  The charges include aiding and abetting murder, genocide, and other grave offenses under both German and international law.

The soldier also stands accused of violating the principles of distinction and proportionality under international humanitarian law.  Friedman, a member of the Golani Brigade, has been identified as actively participating in military offensives in Gaza since October 2023.

The complaint includes video evidence clearly showing Friedman using a heavy machine gun to fire at civilian buildings.

The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) is the legal arm of the March 30 Movement, a non-profit organization established in 2024 and based in Brussels, Belgium.

The HRF submitted videos of Friedman destroying civilian infrastructure, including homes, hospitals, schools, and humanitarian facilities.  Additionally, social media posts show Friedman boasting about his involvement in these crimes.

Friedman is currently most likely in the city of Munich, making him subject to immediate legal action under German jurisdiction.

Given that Friedman very likely holds dual Israeli-German citizenship and is currently on German soil, the complaint urges the German authorities to act swiftly.

Due to the overwhelming evidence and the severity of the allegations, the Hind Rajab Foundation has called for the immediate arrest of Shay Friedman.  The foundation calls on the German prosecution to ignore political pressure and focus on the legal framework that obliges Germany to act.

“Germany cannot neglect the fact that it has jurisdiction over this case because this war criminal is currently in Germany.”  “The rule of law must prevail, and Germany must uphold its legal obligations under both domestic and international law,” it said.

The case is part of the foundation’s broader legal strategy to hold individuals accountable for war crimes committed in Gaza.  The foundation was named after the six-year-old Hind Rajab who was killed by an Israeli tank in 2024 as she hid for safety in Gaza.

It has already filed multiple complaints in national and international jurisdictions.

Hind Rajab Foundation has filed a groundbreaking complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC) against 1,000 Israeli soldiers for genocidal war crimes in Gaza.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and his former minister of military affairs Yoav Gallant for their roles in war crimes.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has also determined that the case of Israel’s actions in Gaza establishes the plausible risk of genocide
