Washington, April 5 (RHC)-- U.S. President Donald Trump said earlier this week that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will "soon" visit Washington for talks on the situation in Gaza.
The Axios news outlet, citing four anonymous sources, now reports that Netanyahu plans to visit the White House as early as Monday, the 7th. The outlet reports that, in addition to Israel’s war on Gaza, the pair plan to discuss Trump’s recently imposed tariffs on Israel, as well as the Iran nuclear crisis.
“Netanyahu thinks the chances of a U.S.-Iran nuclear deal are extremely low and wants to reach an understanding with Trump about striking Iran’s nuclear facilities when diplomacy fails,” the outlet reported, citing a senior Israeli official.
Axios said the plan could still change, however, with the visit depending on judges in Israel agreeing to rearrange planned hearings in Netanyahu’s ongoing corruption trial.
