Luisa González commits to the right to education, health, and social justice in Ecuador

Quito, April 7 (RHC)-- While Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa talks about tariffs, Luisa González, candidate for the Citizen Revolution (RC) party, champions the right to education, health, and social justice as part of her speech at the close of the electoral campaign ahead of the runoff election in the South American nation.

“Luis Vargas Torres University in Esmeraldas will have a new campus and will double its enrollment. More young people will be able to access quality higher education,” González proposed in one of her campaign speeches in Esmeraldas.

The RC party candidate asserted that she is here “thanks to public education, scholarships, and student loans.”  Luis Vargas Torres University in Esmeraldas will have a new campus and will double its enrollment.  More young people will be able to access quality higher education.

At her presentation in Esmeraldas, she revealed a model of a new university campus with student residences and sports facilities.  “I want that same opportunity for every young person in Ecuador.  We are going to return the budget to the universities, open more spaces, create residencies, and offer virtual programs for those who need it most,” he stated.

In a massive evening event, González also acknowledged the daily pain Ecuadorians face regarding the risk of wandering the country's streets.  He recounted cases of families torn apart by violence and denounced that insecurity has become normalized.

He emphasized that true freedom is being able to go out into the streets without fear, study without exclusion, and receive care in a public hospital with dignity.

González also highlighted his commitment to the province.  He recalled the legislative approval of the law allocating one dollar for each barrel of refined oil to Esmeraldas. "Esmeraldas cannot continue to be forgotten.   Development must come with justice," he asserted.

At the same time, presidential candidate Daniel Noboa responded to criticism and defended his position regarding the tariffs imposed by Donald Trump.  He concluded his day with citizen meetings and interviews with local media, declaring that Ecuador is one of the least affected countries and that this forces it to be more competitive.
