Washington, April 12 (RHC)-- The Pentagon reported this Friday that Colonel Susannah Meyers, who served as commander of the U.S. military space base at Pituffik in Greenland, has been removed from her post after she opposed President Trump's threat to take the Danish territory using military force if necessary.

However, cynically, the U.S. Department of Defense's Space Force indicated that the reason for the dismissal was "a loss of confidence in his ability to lead."  "Commanders are expected to adhere to the highest standards of conduct, especially regarding remaining nonpartisan in the performance of their duties," the report stated.

Along those lines, Pentagon Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Sean Parnell emphasized on social media that "any actions that affect the chain of command or subvert President Trump's agenda will not be tolerated in the Department of Defense," which makes clear the real reason for the dismissal.

The Colonel's dismissal comes after several media outlets reported that the military officer sent a letter to all her subordinates indicating that she does not share Vice President JD Vance's and, consequently, the Trump Administration's position on Greenland.

According to the letter, Meyers advocates that Greenland should remain a sovereign Danish island, and that the island's stability is essential for the cohesion of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
