St. Louis, November 28 (RHC)-- U.S. police have launched another crackdown on protests triggered by a grand jury's failure to indict a white police officer in the killing of black teenager Michael Brown in Ferguson, arresting scores of demonstrators.

Police arrested at least 130 protesters on Wednesday night in Los Angeles, while 35 people were detained in Oakland. Meanwhile, police also arrested seven people who tried to disrupt the massive Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City on Thursday over the decision not to charge Darren Wilson.

There was a heavy police presence across the city as they braced for demonstrations on the sidelines of the event. According to authorities, more than 500 people have been arrested so far in the United States in unrest after Wilson was cleared in the killing of Brown on Monday. St. Louis County prosecutor Robert McCulloch said that Wilson would not be indicted and that he would not even face charges for killing the 18-year-old Brown on August 9th in Ferguson.

The family of Brown said they felt "crushed" by the ruling.

Following the decision, violent protests against racial discrimination and police brutality in the United States broke out in dozens of cities and towns across the country.
