PAHO/WHO Organize Training Courses on Ebola

Havana, Nov. 29 (RHC) – The World Health Organization and the Pan-American Health Organization, PAHO, has revealed that physicians and nurses from over 30 nation states of Latin America and the Caribbean will be trained in the handling and treatment of Ebola patients.

Simultaneous training courses, sponsored by PAHO, will begin on Monday, December 1st, in Antigua and Barbuda for Caribbean professionals, and in Chile, for their Latin American counterparts.

Upon completing the course, these medical personnel will train other health workers in their respective nations.

Marcos Espinal, Director of PAHO's Communicable Disease and Health Analysis Office, told that press that the objective is to improve the response capabilities of doctors and nurses when treating Ebola patients.
