Guerrero, Nov. 29 (RHC)-- The governor of Guerrero State Rogelio Ortega, has now confirmed the kidnapping in July of 30 teenagers in the city of Cocula, as disclosed by the mother of one of the victims.

Ortega said that the report on the incident was posted in the website of the state government, though no formal complaint has been made and added that authorities have no further information.

The mother of one of the abducted teenagers, who witnessed the kidnapping, said they were afraid to report the outrage to the authorities because of death threats from the kidnappers.

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto has announced new measures to improve security in the country and said that on Monday he will send a constitutional reform proposal to enable Congress to work on a new bill cracking down on municipal authorities' involvement with organized crime.
