La Paz, January 17 (RHC-PL) -– Delegations from over 40 countries are accredited to attend the indigenous ceremony that will open the inauguration of President of Bolivia Evo Morales on January 21st, said the Deputy Foreign Minister Juan Carlos Alurralde. That figure is preliminary, said the official, as more and more requests are received from nations that want to participate in the ritual at Tiwanaku, a sacred place in the Andean culture.
Morales once again will receive in this ancient city the command batons of indigenous communities as their political and spiritual leader. Alurralde stated that the list of people accredited include mayors, councilors, representatives of trade unions, social movements and indigenous peoples from at least six countries.
Campesino organizations are preparing a festival of native dances that will entertain the ancestral ceremony and will show the different cultures of the Andean country.
On January 22nd, the President and Vice President Alvaro Garcia Linera will be officially sworn-in for another term during a session of honor in the Plurinational Legislative Assembly.
So far, the Presidents Rafael Correa (Ecuador), Horacio Cartes (Paraguay), Dilma Rousseff (Brazil), Nicolas Maduro (Venezuela) and Teodoro Obiang Nguema (Equatorial Guinea), as well as senior officials of the Chilean Parliament, Spain and the European Union have confirmed their attendance.
