Managua, January 31 (RHC-PL) -- Nicaragua's president Daniel Ortega has appointed Puerto Rican pro-independence leader Ruben Berrios as his advisor for international policies on decolonization.
During a television broadcast address, Coordinator of the Council of Communication and Citizenship, Rosario Murillo, reported that the official appointment was made by the Nicaraguan Foreign Ministry.
"It is for us a reason for pride to have as a presidential advisor a prominent social, pro-independence fighter," said Murillo.
During the Third Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, held in Costa Rica, Ortega condemned the U.S. neocolonization policy and gave the floor to Berrios, who was included as a member of the Nicaraguan delegation to the event.
